These new systems share a common combined filter and sump of moulded acrylic. The unit is completely enclosed and is maintained through two large sliding doors. This enclosed construction minimizes evaporation and

The Blue Malawi 1000 filter system comprises the following components:
- Twin filter towers including the patented drawer and biofilter, filled with Bactoballs.
- Ocean Runner 3500 circulation pump
There is still space in the filter sump for the addition of 2 more filter towers. In this case, the circulation pump has to be placed outside the sump. This filter is the perfect unit for high loaded freshwater aquariums, e.g. cichlids. However, it can be used for saltwater as well, if combined with an external protein skimmer.
Pipework connections to the aquarium: 25 mm flow, 40mm return.
All components are inside the filter sump on the basic model.
